GB Sport v UXBRIDGE CRICKET CLUB U13 on Wed 10 May 2006 at 6.00pm
UXBRIDGE CRICKET CLUB Lost match conceded due to poor light
The U13's started thier league season on what must have been the worst wicket in Middx. GB Sports put on 90 thanks primarily to top scorer extra's with 42. The seamers radar's went awol with 30 wides. William Peake bowled fast and got wickets whenever he bowled straight. Both Tom Buggey and Shann Khan bowled well in thier different ways, Shann bowling accurate off spinners and Tom ripping his leggers round corners. Micheal Kessler showed them how to do it , taking 3 wickets, with some very gentle but straight seamers, including two stumpings by Simret.
The Uxbridge players used to batting on a road, struggled against the GB quicks either getting bowled by grubbers or picking up the bruises to ribs, elbows and a chin. The game was conceded at 53-6 in the 15th over for the saftey of the players. We have to though give credit to GB Sport for putting together such a good team, prepared to play week in week out on a minefield.
