UXBRIDGE CRICKET CLUB News story

Season Update.

07 Jul 2019

Dear Member

We're now half way though the league season and the committee would like to update you with a few happenings around the club.

1's Top the league

With a 168 Run win on Saturday the 1st XI now top the Middlesex County League Division 3. This has been a fantastic first half for the club and we hope to see the first XI continue these strong Performances, strong praise goes to Skipper Aman Quadri who has now amassed 538 runs which is nearly as many league runs this season as his total return in the 2018 league season. Yesterday also saw wins for the 2nd XI who bowled out Enfield for 89 runs and knocked them off 1 down with Will Spicer 69 NO and Nav Suleman's 3's saw a 2 wicket victory over Brondesbury. Unfortunately the 4's couldn't make it 4 out of 4 but we get the chance to go again next week.

Accommodation Required

The club has been offered a second overseas player and would like to know if there is any member that would be willing to put up the player for the final 10 weeks of the season. The player in question is the son of a former overseas player who previously played for the club and we truly hope our members can step once more to the fore and help out with our ever continuing accommodation issues. For more information please contact Chris Alder (07930 387997).

Reiss Walker selected for Bunbury Festival.

The 33rd ECB David English Bunbury Festival will involve Uxbridge's very own Reiss Walker for 2019. Reiss has been selected for the London and South East Team. The Bunbury Festival brings together 56 of the most talented Under-15 schoolboy cricketers from England and Wales, to compete in 50-over and T20 matches. Its a fantastic achievement and Reiss becomes the first Uxbridge player to make the festival. The festival runs from the 4th - 9th August @ Felsted school and We'll be keeping an eager eye on the tournament.

The Cricket committee hope all members are enjoying the season so far, and are extremely excited by the opportunities that await the club.

Up the Bridge!
